Chevrolet Silverado Hydrogen Military Vehicle (2006) with pictures and wallpapers

The redesigned GMT900 generation of the Silverado/Sierra is coming in the second half of 2006 as a 2007 model. It will feature a redesigned exterior, interior, frame, and suspension as well as a power boost on certain engines. It is expected to take styling cues from the 2007 GMT900 Suvs and Chevy Colorado/GMC Canyon pickups. The GMT800 models will continue in 2007 badged as "Classic", just as the GMT400 models continued for a year alongside these trucks.
According to a recent article in the September issue of Motor Trend, the 2007 Silverado's price is predicted to range from $17,000 to $35,000 (very similar to the GMT800 trucks). The new Silverado is set to offer buyer's a choice in two door regular cabs, four door extended cabs (with rear doors that will practically open a full 180 degrees similar to the Nissan Titan) and four door crew cabs with the rear doors opening in the same direction as the front doors. GM also plans to offer the trucks in the traditional two and four wheel drive configurations. The same engines offered in the GMT 800 trucks will continue to be offered in the GMT 900 series with the addition of the new 6.2 liter V8 (with 385 horsepower and 400 lbs. ft of torque) that was introduced with the 2007 GM SUVs. The majority of the GMT 900 trucks will continue to be equiped with the four speed tranmission that was found on the GMT 800 platform. However, the all new 6 speed transmission (the same one found on the 2007 Cadillac Escalade and Yukon Denali) will be offered on the GMC Sierra Denali. There will be two dash options ofered in the new silverado and sierra. A "Luxury inspired" dash that closley mimics the dash in their GMT900 Suvs, and a "Pure Pickup" dash that is more upright and traditional will be offered on different trim levels. It is possible that the new tranmission will be avaiable on the other truck models in the next few years. The new Silverado and Sierra are set to hit the market in October 2006 as a 2007. model.
